My love for the game of soccer began at a very early age and continues on til this day. In 1992 at the age of 16 my U16 club team NHB won the USYSA National Championship in Virginia. My success at NHB allowed me to further my playing career at the college level where I earned a scholarship and became a 4 year starter at a Division 1 school Sacramento State. It was during this time that my interest in the sports medicine field was sparked after going through rehab with the head athletic trainers for knee surgery. I also played Professional soccer at the A-League level for 1 year after being drafted out of college.
I began coaching high school soccer in 2001 for Monrovia High School and held that position of directing the boys soccer program for 4 years. It was also during that time that I began coaching club soccer and continued with that position with SGV Flyers, Flyers, and LAFC up until 2009. It was also during that time with the local soccer club that I was able to serve as a strength and conditioning coach for the club, a role I had held in different capacities since 2000 while working in the corporate wellness environment. My love for kids, health, fitness, and soccer are tied together. This interest comes from a desire to continue to make positive changes in the lives of many, not just with soccer but with life in general. I believe that it is not just about soccer, but about serving in this life the way God intends for us. My desire has been and continues to be to utilize my experiences as a soccer coach, athlete, health care practitioner, father, and fan to best serve those who I encounter in life.
